May 6, 2021 – Blossom Hill, Inc. kicked off Nurses Week 2021 with a special luncheon on Thursday, May 6. The event included lunch from the local Italian eatery, Dina’s, games, and handmade gifts from the individuals with assistance from the staff to recognize and honor the nurses at Blossom Hill. Blossom Hill’s four facilities accommodate individuals with developmental and physical disabilities who have high medical needs and specialize in serving individuals with behavioral needs.

“The individuals who live at Blossom Hill’s facilities require a lot of skilled nursing care,” said Lisa Kristosik, RN, BSN, Blossom Hill’s Chief Executive Officer. “Our nurses not only provide that skilled care but they do it with compassion and a great understanding of each individual’s needs. I’m grateful that we have a dedicated week to celebrate all that these nurses do. These nurses are truly are exceptional and we are lucky to have them.”

“The ‘extra something’ that our nurses provide is the human element of nursing care,” said Lynne Urbanski, Executive Director & COO at Blossom Hill. “They know everything about the individuals that they take care of and they are like family to each other. We are so thankful for our nurses.”

Nurse’s Week is supported by the American Nurses Association and the World Health Organization (WHO). This year, organizations across the globe celebrate the “Year of the Nurse.” This recognition builds on the increased visibility of nurses’ contributions from 2020 and ANA’s expansion of National Nurses Week to Nurses Month in May.
