After breaking ground in early November, Blossom Hill recently complete Phase I, a therapeutic walking path, of its outdoor activities center. Our Individuals, families, and staff now have a safe place to walk, relax, and enjoy the outdoors in the backyard of the Blossom & Haven Houses.

Phase I of the project was funded by a grant from the Good Shepherd Foundation. The therapeutic pathway will include raised garden beds, deer fencing to protect the raised garden beds, and landscaping/land renewal that will commence in Spring 2021.

Phase II of the project is targeted for completion in 2021 and includes the addition of a greenhouse and enhanced deer-resistant fencing. These additions to Phase I will provide a new platform for development opportunities as well as recreational activities for Blossom Hill individuals. In turn, the Blossom Hill caregiving team will have a new outlet/tool to foster wellness and nurture goodwill amongst Blossom Hill’s individuals and the caregiving team. The overarching goal of this project (Phase I &II) is to establish a facility that will act as a center of recreation, learning, development, and vocation for Blossom Hill individuals. Thereby, enhancing Blossom Hill’s individual’s well-being and life purpose through outdoor activities and cultivation of gardens.

Funding opportunities are still available for Phase II. Please contact the Director of Development at LoriI@Blossom-Hill.org for more information.
