Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Awards Blossom Hill, Inc. Grant Funding to Install State-Of-The-Art Tracking System, Making All Four Homes “Track-Ready”
September 25, 2020, NORTH ROYALTON, Ohio – Construction began this week on Blossom House, one of Blossom Hill’s four group home for adults with developmental disabilities, to make the home “track-ready,” providing both types of tracking system that allows Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to better assist the individuals living in the homes in a way that’s tailored to each individuals’ need. The upgrades to Blossom House were funded, in part, by a recent grant from the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation as part of the Bureau’s Safety Intervention Grants for Employers working with Persons with Developmental Disabilities.
“Our goal is to meet the needs of our individuals and those in the community who may need our services,” said Lynne Urbanski, Chief Operating Officer at Blossom Hill. “I’m proud to say that all four of our homes are now ‘track-ready.’”
Blossom Hill has four family-style group home locations in Northeast Ohio at three separate locations in North Royalton, Parma, and Westlake. This is the last home to be customized with the tracking system. Tracking will be installed in key rooms including bedrooms and bathrooms, and the family room in the house next year. Construction is expected to take about two weeks to install.
With the tracking system installed in all four homes, Blossom Hill is better positioned to take care of individuals from any county in Northeast Ohio who may qualify for its Respite Care Program.
