Where love is the quality of care™
For nearly a quarter century, Blossom Hill has been the non-profit, ‘quality of life alternative’ for adults with profound mental and physical disabilities within greater Cleveland. Providing family-style group living, the hallmark of Blossom Hill lies in its loving environment and personalized care.
There are a number of residential programs for adults with disabilities in the greater Cleveland area. Yet, it would be difficult to find a facility with the same warmth and the same model of care as Blossom Hill.
Our Residential Style of Care
Adults with severe to profound mental disabilities represent a largely unseen population of more than 2,000 persons within Cuyahoga County. For some, particularly those with equally severe physical handicaps, home care eventually becomes impossible. In sharp contrast to institutional settings where such totally dependent individuals are largely confined, Blossom Hill provides home-like settings designed to meet the unique needs of each individual within our care. As a result, Blossom Hill has become the standard of loving and personal attention.
Founded in 1983 as Children Forever Haven, we opened our first home as a state-licensed facility in a renovated dormitory on the site of the former Blossom Hill School for Girls in Brecksville. In 1988, we opened a second, specially-designed facility in Westlake under the auspices of the Cuyahoga County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities. A total of 28 residents call Blossom Hill home at these two sites. In 2007, we changed our organizational name to Blossom Hill to better reflect our origins and current attitudes toward disabilities.
